The efficient management of accounts receivable and liquidity are fundamental elements for the financial health and sustainability of companies. This study focuses on the management of accounts receivable and its impact on liquidity in commercial enterprises, aiming to analyze the strategies and practices in accounts receivable management in commercial companies in the city of Santo Domingo. It was developed using a mixed modality, with a predominance of the qualitative approach. It was found that 100% of respondents agree on the importance of granting credit. Effective collection measures include electronic reminders, collection follow-ups for each client, phone calls, and to a lesser extent, incentives for timely payments. There is no widespread practice of cash flow management. There are no standardized procedures for controlling accounts receivable, creating a high business risk. However, tools such as payment capacity review, credit limits, minimum entries, and a minimum sector working with business agreements are applied. With the proposed accounts receivable management model, it is expected to ensure that companies receive payments in a timely manner, reduce bad debt risks, and maintain adequate liquidity.
