Family guidance to stimulate the sensory-perceptual development of two-year-old children
Keywords:
Sensory stimulation, family guidance, child developmentAbstract
This study analyzes sensory-perceptual development in two-year-old children and the influence of the family on the early stimulation process within the context of the Growing with Our Children (CNH) program. A qualitative approach was used, employing a case study design and techniques such as participant observation, interviews, and a pedagogical assessment. The results show that, although there is progress in sensory areas, children do not consistently achieve age-appropriate skills due to partial and unsystematic stimulation. The study identified that the family plays a fundamental role but lacks the necessary technical training to adequately guide this process. Based on these findings, a family guidance program is proposed, focusing on practical training, awareness-raising, and support, with the aim of strengthening sensory stimulation at home and promoting comprehensive child development.
