Financial Audit: Application of Emerging Technologies and Data Analytics in the Commercial Sector
Keywords:

The automation of financial audits through emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, Big Data, RPA and Blockchain, aims to improve efficiency and accuracy in the detection of errors and financial risks. However, the main challenge identified is the low adoption of these tools, which limits the effectiveness of traditional audits. In this context, the objective of this study is to design financial audit strategies to detect errors in the financial processes of commercial enterprises in the canton of Machala, Ecuador. Through a qualitative methodological approach with a descriptive-explanatory scope applied to local commercial enterprises, the results show that, although there is high regulatory compliance (85.72%), only 31.43% use digital tools and 51.43% of the processes are partially automated. It is concluded that emerging audit strategies, supported by continuous training and technological integration, improve transparency, the quality of financial reporting and strategic decision making.
