Climate governance: contextualization and proposal for an action roadmap on farms in the municipality of Abreus
Keywords:

Climate governance constitutes an essential component for strengthening the adaptive capacity of rural production systems in the face of climate change impacts. In this context, the present study describes the actions implemented on farms in the municipality of Abreus linked to the CienPinos Project, with the purpose of contextualizing the current state of climate governance and identifying opportunities for its enhancement through the design of an Action Roadmap. The research was conducted using a descriptive and non-experimental approach, supported by climate vulnerability analysis and the participation of local stakeholders involved in agricultural production and environmental management within the territory. The process included familiarization with the conceptual foundations of climate governance, the collection and analysis of information regarding existing conditions on the farms, and the integration of findings to formulate actions aimed at improving local climate management. The results made it possible to identify vulnerabilities associated with the exposure and sensitivity of the Casa Blanca, San Rafael, and Simpatía farms to adverse climate events, as well as needs related to capacity building, institutional coordination, and innovation in resource management. Based on these findings, an Action Roadmap structured into four phases was developed to promote context-based interventions, stakeholder collaboration, and the incorporation of innovative practices for climate adaptation. The proposed roadmap serves as a decision-making support tool and contributes to strengthening producers’ capacities, fostering environmental education, sustainable farm management, and the advancement of climate governance processes in the municipality of Abreus.
