Comparative analysis of financial stability in Ecuador: Perspectives from Central Bank data (2022-2024)

Abstract

This study conducts a comparative analysis of the financial data from the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE) between 2022 and 2024, aiming to assess the country's economic stability within a global and regional context. Using official data from the BCE, key indicators such as inflation, international reserves, public debt, GDP growth, and trade balance are examined. The results reveal significant trends, including a decrease in inflation by 2024, a moderate increase in international reserves, and stable GDP growth, albeit with persistent challenges in managing external debt. These changes are contextualized with implemented economic policies and the international environment, highlighting the impact of dollarization and fluctuations in commodity prices. The study concludes that while the Ecuadorian economy shows signs of stability, risks remain due to reliance on external income and the need for structural reforms. This analysis provides relevant evidence for economic policy decision-making and suggests priority areas for future research.
